This article aimed to analyze the strategies adopted by the Maranhão State Education Network to reduce dropout and absenteeism in Youth and Adult Education. It is an exploratory study with a qualitative approach, employing bibliographic review, document analysis, and fieldwork. The results indicated the development of pedagogical strategies, such as guidance documents, periodic school monitoring, flexible entry times, active outreach, continuing teacher training, the use of specific textbooks, and specific lesson planning. The need for an emancipatory pedagogical practice capable of driving transformations, accompanied by other actions that address the issue of school dropout and absenteeism, is confirmed. It was concluded that it is fundamental for government officials, educational managers, and schools to promote specific public policies, improve learning, and ensure the right to education for all.
