This article aimed to analyze the main psychiatric disorders in the postpartum period, such as postpartum blues, depression, and postpartum psychosis, discussing their impacts on women's health, bonding with the baby, and family dynamics. The methodology employed consisted of an integrative review of the scientific literature, with a survey of publications on risk factors, pathophysiological mechanisms, and intervention strategies. The main results indicate that insufficient social support, a history of mental disorders, and marital difficulties are the factors most associated with these conditions. It was observed that approximately one in four Brazilian women presents symptoms of postpartum depression, which reinforces the urgency of the topic for public health. The analysis also demonstrates that psychotherapeutic interventions and the strengthening of support networks with the partner's participation favor better clinical outcomes. It is concluded that the early recognition of these conditions and the expansion of perinatal mental health care policies are fundamental to guaranteeing the promotion of maternal health and the healthy development of the family unit.
