Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is characterized by glucose intolerance diagnosed during pregnancy, resulting from insulin resistance caused by placental hormones, representing one of the metabolic complications with the greatest impact on the mother-fetus dyad. This study aims to evaluate the impact of structured nursing care on maternal and neonatal outcomes, as well as the quality of care in pregnant women with gestational diabetes. This is a bibliographic review with a qualitative approach, searching for scientific productions published between 2020 and 2025, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, available in full text using the following descriptors: Gestational Diabetes, Nursing Care, and Prenatal Care. It was evidenced that the nurse's role transcends the pregnancy-puerperal period, establishing itself as an intergenerational health strategy. It is noted that, by qualifying prenatal care, nursing intervention not only manages the immediate condition but also acts directly in reducing chronic pathologies for future generations.
