Intellectual property and technology transfer have become strategic elements for strengthening innovation in corporate and educational organizations. In the contemporary context, marked by the knowledge economy and rapid technological evolution, the proper management of intellectual assets—such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and software—has become essential to promote competitiveness, knowledge generation, and institutional development. In this scenario, educational institutions and companies have sought cooperative mechanisms to transform scientific knowledge into solutions applicable to society and the market. The present study aims to analyze the importance of intellectual property and technology transfer as instruments for promoting innovation in corporate and educational organizations, highlighting their challenges, potential, and contributions to scientific, technological, and economic development. It also seeks to understand how these mechanisms support the protection of produced knowledge while stimulating strategic partnerships among universities, research centers, and companies. The methodology adopted is based on a qualitative approach of a bibliographic and exploratory nature, grounded in the analysis of books, scientific articles, legislation, and institutional documents addressing the themes of intellectual property and technology transfer. The analysis of the material made it possible to identify concepts, innovation management models, and experiences related to the application of these instruments in academic and corporate environments. The results indicate that intellectual property plays an essential role in protecting intellectual creations and enhancing the value of knowledge produced within institutions. In addition, technology transfer emerges as an effective mechanism for bringing academic research closer to the demands of the productive sector, allowing scientific discoveries to be transformed into innovative products, processes, and services. It is also observed that the existence of Technology Innovation Centers (NITs), institutional innovation policies, and government incentives significantly contribute to strengthening this process. However, challenges still persist related to institutional bureaucracy, the lack of an innovation culture, and the need to train researchers and managers to deal with the legal and strategic aspects of intellectual property. It is concluded that the integration of intellectual property, technology transfer, and innovation management represents a decisive factor for the sustainable development of corporate and educational organizations. The consolidation of institutional policies aimed at protecting knowledge and encouraging cooperation between universities and companies can significantly expand the social, scientific, and economic impact of developed research. Therefore, investing in an innovation culture and in the efficient management of intellectual assets constitutes a fundamental strategy to strengthen the role of organizations in the knowledge society.
