Abstract

To describe the influences of teachers' educational social skills (ESS) in managing challenging behaviors in children up to 12 years old. Methods: A qualitative literature review was carried out, analyzing studies investigating the association between teaching practices and students' behavioral repertoire. Results: Findings indicate that positive practices, such as emotional support and effective communication, reduce behavior problems. Conversely, coercive and punitive interactions exacerbate challenging behavior, creating vicious cycles of indiscipline. Conclusion: Teacher social skills are essential professional competencies. Effective management of challenging behaviors depends on ongoing teacher training to break negative interaction patterns and promote a healthy learning environment.
