This article analyzes the strategic importance of strengthening the Military Police of Amazonas (PMAM) in the state's interior to combat organized crime and drug trafficking. The research object focuses on the effectiveness of the Arpão Integrated River Bases and the need to reform the Basic Organization Law for the implementation of decentralized tactical units. The methodology is qualitative and applied, based on documentary and bibliographic research, with analysis of operational statistical data. The results demonstrate that institutional integration and river patrolling generated financial losses exceeding R$ 593 million to criminal factions between 2020 and 2024. The final considerations reinforce that security in the interior depends on the technical staffing and the regularization of tactical mobile doctrines to ensure state sovereignty in the river channels. It is concluded that investment in security in the interior is essential for reducing crime throughout the territory of Amazonas.
