The incarceration of women in Brazil has been increasing and represents a growing challenge for justice and public health. This study aimed to analyze the nursing care provided to women deprived of liberty in Brazil, considering their specific health needs and the structural challenges present within the prison system. The literature review revealed that incarcerated women face aggravating conditions such as overcrowding, poor sanitary conditions, limited access to medical consultations and preventive examinations, as well as high vulnerability to physical, infectious, and emotional health problems. It was observed that nursing plays a central role in this context, acting through humanized care, health promotion, disease prevention, and ensuring access to rights guaranteed by the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) and current public policies. However, professional practice is hindered by insufficient resources, lack of specific training, and institutional barriers that limit comprehensive carez It is concluded that strengthening nursing actions and expanding prevention and health education strategies are essential to ensure dignified, equitable, and effective care for women deprived of liberty.
