Schizophrenia is a complex and multifaceted mental illness that affects millions of people around the world. Characterized by symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thoughts and disruptive behaviors, schizophrenia can have a devastating impact on the quality of life of patients and their families. This article aims to conduct an integrative review of the literature published between 2024 and 2025, focusing on the evaluation of the potential and effectiveness of the use of AIs in the management of schizophrenia. The research was conducted in PubMed databases, including comparative studies, reviews, and systematic reviews, with the selection of articles that address different aspects of this relationship. The results indicate that AIs can help identify patterns of behavior and symptoms, provide emotional and cognitive support, and even assist in the development of personalized treatment plans. However, it is essential to emphasize that AIs should be used only by qualified and trained professionals, due to the complexity and sensitivity of the treatment of schizophrenia. The available evidence demonstrates that while the promising results are motivating, it is important to recognize that there is still much to be learned and studied about the effective use of AIs in the treatment of schizophrenia, and more research is needed to confirm their benefits and limitations.
