This study aims to discuss the importance of phonological awareness games for early literacy through a literature review on the subject, based on the teaching practices of the research teacher. Using a qualitative approach as a methodology, we seek to reflect on teaching mediation through phonological awareness games. We know that literacy is crucial for student development, as it is through literacy that students acquire the skills necessary to advance in their academic environment, and phonological awareness is the basis for this process to occur efficiently. Therefore, the literacy teacher is the precursor of these opportunities, as he or she is the one who plans the activities that develop the skills necessary for students to learn to read and write.
