Artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine raises significant ethical dilemmas, impacting clinical practice, patients’ rights, and the boundaries of technological use. An integrative literature review was conducted based on 11 studies published between 2010 and 2025, retrieved from the PubMed database, in Portuguese or English, with open access and relevance to the health field. The benefits of AI include greater diagnostic accuracy, personalized treatments, and improved data management. However, concerns arise regarding technological dependence, loss of human skills, legal uncertainty, and the spread of misinformation. Current legislation, such as the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), seeks to provide ethical and legal guidelines for the use of these technologies. It is concluded that, despite the advances brought by AI, its adoption in medicine requires careful regulation, professional critical thinking, and the preservation of medical autonomy and patient-centered care.
