Physical Education is a fundamental curricular component in elementary education, contributing significantly to the integral development of children and adolescents. Through physical and sports activities, students develop motor, social, emotional, and cognitive skills that are essential for health, well-being, and citizenship formation. In addition to promoting active and healthy lifestyles, Physical Education encourages social interaction, cooperation, self-esteem, self-knowledge, and conflict resolution—elements that are indispensable to school and social coexistence. This research project aims to analyze the importance of Physical Education in the overall development of elementary school students, investigating its impact on physical, socio-emotional, and cognitive aspects, as well as its relationship with academic performance. The study also seeks to reflect on strategies for improving and better integrating Physical Education within the school environment, contributing to more comprehensive learning and to the formation of critical, healthy, and socially engaged citizens.
