The study addressed the problem of the difficulty in creating and evaluating educational questions in an efficient and personalized way. The general objective was to investigate how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can become an ally in the development of educational resources, specifically in the generation of questions and assessments. The methodology used consisted of a literature review, analyzing academic works and relevant research on the use of AI in education. In development, the concepts and applications of AI in education, automated assessment models, challenges in implementation and the benefits of AI in generating educational questions were explored. It was highlighted that AI can adapt educational content to the specific needs of students, providing a more efficient learning experience. Automated assessment using Markovian-Bayesian models has proven capable of adjusting assessments according to student progress, saving educators time and providing continuous feedback to students. Challenges in implementation include teacher resistance and student data privacy and security issues. The benefits of AI include analyzing large volumes of data to create questions aligned with educational objectives and ensuring diversity and equity in assessments. Final considerations highlighted that AI has significant potential to improve the personalization and efficiency of educational processes, but faces challenges that need to be overcome. The study contributed to the understanding of how AI can be integrated into education and suggested the need for further studies to explore solutions to the identified challenges.
