TEACHING PRACTICE THROUGH THE LIGHT OF DIGITAL MEDIA IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Digital media have been gaining prominence within the educational field. With the incorporation of these tools into teaching environments, it becomes evident that their benefits can be applied across various areas of knowledge. In light of this scenario, the present study aims to explore the main definitions, applications, and potential risks associated with digital media, with particular emphasis on teaching and learning processes mediated by technology. To guide the research, the following problem question was established: what are the main definitions of digital media, and what benefits and risks are associated with their use in education? The findings indicate that, although digital media have been the subject of discussion within the educational sphere, they are still largely understood from a market- oriented perspective. However, based on the literature reviewed, it is observed that this perception has been gradually expanding.
