ACESSIBILITY OF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION AND THE INFLUENCE OF CONTINUING TRAINING FOR TEACHERS

The global literacy rate for adults with disabilities is around 3%, with only 1% for women. Therefore, this study's question is: what strategies are adopted to meet the needs that relate skills, competencies and the legitimization of the training of people with disabilities in higher education? To answer the problem question, the general objective was to carry out an analysis of access to education for individuals with disabilities in higher education within educational units. The present study is an integrative review that seeks to analyze existing studies in the literature. For the selection of articles, the inclusion criteria will be the language in Portuguese, English or Spanish and with publication dates between the years 2015 and 2023. It is concluded that for the development of an inclusive society it is necessary to offer opportunities for everyone can develop their potential and for this, actions that consider issues of inclusion and accessibility within the scope of higher education are of utmost importance, through appropriate strategies, resources and methodologies that value distinctions and focus on the potential of students without or with deficiency.
