Introduction: Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic syndrome characterized by widespread pain, significantly affecting the quality of life of people with this condition. Its pathophysiology is still unknown, but it is associated with genetic, psychological, and even environmental conditions, and diagnosis may occur late due to its association with symptoms such as fatigue, psychological changes (depression and anxiety), insomnia, and even bowel problems. Objectives: To investigate the effects of physical exercise on improving the quality of life of individuals diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Methodology: A integrative review was conducted using the Scielo and PubMed databases, using 17 full articles published in the last 5 years. Results: The results indicate that regular physical exercise of any type is an effective strategy in the non-pharmacological treatment of fibromyalgia. Conclusion: It is concluded that physical exercise is the main non-pharmacological strategy for the treatment, care, and maintenance of symptoms arising from fibromyalgia, being effective when well-structured and guided.
