Abstract

This work aims to succinctly demonstrate the crisis in public security, as well as to historically demonstrate the origin of punishment, moving towards an analysis of the failure of deprivation of liberty. On the other hand, it emphasizes the public outcry in the face of the growth of crime, as well as the phenomenon of symbolic legislation.
