This article explores the evolution of the family's role in society and its influence in the school context. It analyzes the transition from the medieval patriarchal family to the modern family, highlighting the increasing appreciation of childhood and the importance of affectivity. The relevance of the partnership between family and school for the integral development of the individual is discussed, considering social, emotional, and cognitive aspects. The theoretical approach is based on authors such as Henri Wallon and other educational theorists, who emphasize the importance of the interaction between different developmental contexts. It is concluded that collaboration between family and school is essential to promote meaningful learning and healthy development of students.
