The social reintegration of military inmates from the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM) constitutes a complex and singular challenge, distinct from the difficulties faced by the general prison population. This article analyzes and proposes solutions for the social reintegration of these individuals, who face a double stigma: that of being former detainees and of having failed to meet military standards of discipline. The study's main objective was to understand the barriers and propose effective strategies for reintegration. The methodology employed Bibliographic Review and Qualitative Data Analysis, using content analysis techniques on bibliographies, articles, and PMAM's social reintegration programs. The results reveal that, although existing programs show effectiveness in reducing recidivism among active participants, their full effectiveness is compromised by factors such as prison overcrowding, resource scarcity, the lack of continuous psychological support, and persistent social stigmatization that hinders reintegration into the labor market. The implementation of an integral and adapted approach is proposed, which includes developing training programs that leverage military skills, establishing partnerships with the private sector for hiring, and urgently investing in psychosocial support both during and after incarceration. It is concluded that successful social reintegration requires not only compliance with the Penal Execution Law but also a cultural shift and the provision of specific resources to mitigate the unique barriers faced by this population.
