Abstract

Radiofrequency (RF) has established itself as an effective non-invasive technique for the treatment of skin laxity, acting through controlled dermal heating and stimulation of neocollagenesis. Therefore, the central objective is to analyze the effects of radiofrequency on collagen synthesis in dermal fibroblasts through an integrative review. The methodology was based on an integrative literature review, an approach that allows for gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing results from relevant studies already published on the topic. The analyzed studies demonstrated that radiofrequency favors the remodeling of the extracellular matrix, increases the expression of collagen synthesis markers, and improves clinical parameters of firmness and elasticity, with an adequate safety profile. It is concluded that RF represents a relevant resource in biomedical aesthetics, reinforcing the role of the biomedical professional in skin assessment, protocol definition, and results monitoring, in an ethical and evidence-based manner.
