This article reflects on the theoretical impact of technological advances in healthcare on the humanisation of care. The application of bioethics as a discipline and an interdisciplinary field is fundamental to training that promotes ethical conduct when operating equipment and providing patient care in the professional practice of radiology technologists (RTs). The ethical implications of patient care when using diagnostic and treatment technologies, such as radiotherapy and imaging exams, should be considered in the professional performance of RTs. This theoretical, conceptual study is based on the first author's reflections on their master's research in bioethics. The results highlight the scarcity of bibliographic findings and the importance of integrating bioethics into clinical RT practice to ensure respect for human rights and the overall well-being of patients. The study also revealed a lack of scientific literature on professional development and observed the presence of the principlist perspective in the professional code of ethics. Bioethical references are considered to be able to guide clinical practice, promoting healthcare that integrates technological advances and humanisation without losing sight of ethical values and human rights.
