This article critically analyzes the implementation of body-worn cameras in public security forces, with an emphasis on the Military Police of Amazonas (PMAM). Based on a bibliographic review and documental analysis, it discusses the technological evolution of video monitoring, the benefits and limitations pointed out by national and international literature, and the specific challenges faced in the Amazonian context. Aspects such as transparency, reduction in the use of force, privacy, operational costs, and behavioral impacts on police officers are examined. It is concluded that although body cameras can contribute to police accountability, their implementation must be accompanied by broad public policies, clear regulation, and consideration of local particularities, avoiding technocratic solutions that ignore the structural roots of violence.
