This article analyzes the impact of tactical motorcycle patrols in combating crime in the city of Manaus/AM, focusing on the actions of the 3rd Motorcycle Company of the 2nd Shock Battalion/Cândido Mariano Ostensive Patrols (ROCAM). It is based on the premise that reduced urban mobility, the disorderly growth of the capital, and the increase in crimes committed using motorcycles require specialized forms of visible policing. The research, of a basic nature with a qualitative approach, was developed through a bibliographic and documentary review of public security doctrines, official reports from the Amazonas Public Security Secretariat, and specific studies on tactical motorcycle patrols. The results indicate that the use of motorcycles significantly expands the response capacity in hard-to-reach areas, contributes to the reduction of robberies and thefts, and reinforces the visible presence of the Military Police in areas of greater social vulnerability. However, structural challenges were identified related to the provision of continuous training, the standardization of personal protective equipment and weapons, as well as the need to align local operational practices with the National Doctrine of Motorcycle Policing. It is concluded that strengthening tactical motorcycle patrols in Manaus requires permanent investments in training, fleet, and working conditions, in order to guarantee not only greater repressive effectiveness, but also safety and occupational health for the military police officers involved.
