Degenerative diseases, aging and accidents often condition the patient to a bedridden state, leading to limitations and the development of systemic, oral and other pathologies, thus making care for this patient and the role of the nurse and dentist in their monitoring of extreme importance. Thus, this study seeks to identify how in practice the dentist and nurse contribute to home care in the diagnosis and treatment of the pathologies most commonly found in this target audience. This study is a literature review using as a database the Virtual Health Library (VHL), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO). This study presented 10 articles as a final sample, from which it verified the importance of the role of the dentist and nurse in home care and the challenges encountered. In conclusion, according to the findings of this review, the importance of the nurse's role is clear, as he plays a central role in home care, planning and developing activities for the care of this population, acting as a link between these patients and the health services, and the dentist's role is to establish bonds and understand the habits of the community, acting in the care of bedridden patients, in the prevention, promotion and restoration of health, in view of the various pathologies that affect this population.
