This study aims to discuss and analyze Lei nº 15.035/2024, enacted on November 27, 2024, which establishes the National Registry of Pedophiles and Sexual Predators and allows public access to the name and tax identification number (CPF) of individuals convicted of crimes against sexual dignity. The law amends the Penal Code and complements Lei nº 14.069/2020, with the purpose of strengthening public security and preventing the recurrence of sexual offenses. In addition to legal analysis, the study examines practical applications of the law, including the disclosure of conviction data and the proposal to implement an alert center aimed at protecting and informing society. It also discusses the possible implications of the legislation in relation to Lei nº 13.709/2018 (General Data Protection Law) and the right to be forgotten, considering the balance between the public interest in security and the right to privacy and human dignity. To complement the theoretical approach, an exploratory survey was conducted with women from different regions of Brazil to understand how they perceive the impacts of this new law on their lives, as well as their level of agreement and trust regarding its effectiveness and potential social impacts. This study therefore seeks to contribute to the contemporary debate on public security, fundamental rights, and women’s protection policies, offering a critical reflection on the challenges and benefits of implementing the national registry.Downloads
