THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of social media on the development of children in basic education. The relevance of the topic lies in its potential to elucidate the challenges presented by digital tools, their possible benefits, and strategies for the prevention of serious psychological and physical disorders. This research adopts a qualitative methodological approach and is characterized as exploratory. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews conducted in a public school in the city of Escada/PE. The results highlight the importance of promoting digital literacy for well-being and fostering meaningful connections with the world.
