Abstract

This article aimed to examine the relevance of Solidarity Economy (SE) practices for the economic strengthening and productive autonomy of settled farmers, with special attention to the scarcity of studies on management in family farming in the Tocantins region. The methodology used consists of a qualitative and participatory action research in the Vale Verde Settlement. The main intervention, carried out in April 2025, consisted of using the Rural Family Entrepreneur's Field Notebook, a resource accessible to academics, with the aim of facilitating expense management and profit determination. The most significant results show that the Notebook constitutes an effective self-management tool, standing out by incorporating the recording of the value corresponding to own use (subsistence), which allows visualization of the contribution to food security and strengthens the principles of the Solidarity Economy. The evaluation conducted after the workshop (N=6) found that all participants rated the intervention as "excellent" and considered the tool to be applied immediately. It is concluded that a solidarity economy, through adjusted management instruments, represents a strategic and replicable approach for strengthening the financial stability of settlements, providing support for the sustainability of rural communities.
