The study examined how continuing teacher education contributed to strengthening inclusive practices in basic education. It addressed the problem related to teachers’ difficulties in meeting students’ needs in inclusive contexts and considered that initial training often did not sufficiently address inclusion. The main objective was to analyze how continuing education supported the development of practices that responded to the demands of school diversity. The research adopted a qualitative, bibliographic approach, analyzing books, chapters, articles, and documents selected according to their relevance to the topic. The results showed that continuing education improved teaching practices, expanded teachers’ ability to adapt pedagogical strategies, strengthened support for diverse learners, and promoted changes in classroom dynamics. Challenges were also identified, including gaps in public policies, limited training opportunities, and the lack of continuous follow-up. The final considerations indicated that continuing education was essential for advancing inclusive practices, although further studies and structural improvements are still needed.
