The study entitled “Community Policing: A Strategy for Approaching the Military Police and the Community” aims to understand and disseminate the doctrine of community policing. This is a bibliographic review research, based on the analysis of books, laws, works on Public Security, and the guidelines of the Directorate of Community Policing and Human Rights of the Military Police of Pará. The research analyzes the community policing model and the necessary behavioral changes in society, highlighting the importance of joint action between Public Security institutions and the community to promote social peace. The first chapter addresses the general aspects of community policing, including its history, principles, and legislation. The second chapter deals with community policing as a strategy for approaching the Military Police and the community, presenting concepts, doctrine, and forms of implementation. The third chapter analyzes the advantages of the model, such as interaction with the community, the division of responsibilities, and problem-solving, concluding with final considerations.
