This article aimed to report the emergency clinical management of a case of urethral obstruction in a feline. The methodology is based on the description of the care provided to a 1-year-and-8-month-old male mixed-breed cat who presented with anuria, anorexia, and bladder distension after an episode of escape and penile trauma. Laboratory results indicated azotemia, leukocytosis, hematuria, and proteinuria. Ultrasound revealed cystitis without calculi, and urine culture was negative, confirming obstruction by urethral plugs. Treatment consisted of rupture cystocentesis, fluid therapy to correct dehydration, and urethral decompression by hydropropulsion under sedation. It is concluded that the rapid therapeutic approach, combining bladder decompression and hemodynamic stabilization, was effective for the patient's clinical recovery and reversal of the obstructive condition.
