Abstract

Lumbar disc herniation is a common and debilitating condition, characterized by the compression of neural structures and often related to aging and occupational factors. This study presents the clinical report of a patient with this condition, in addition to other comorbidities such as hypertension and previous surgeries. The initial evaluation showed intense pain, limited lumbar mobility, respiratory alterations, and core stability deficits. The methodology involved chart review, a complete physical examination, specific tests, and an individualized therapeutic plan including stretching, kinesiotherapy, myofascial release, McKenzie-based exercises, and physical resources. After weeks of intervention, there was significant improvement in cervical and lumbar mobility, a negative Milgram test, pain reduction, and overall functional progress, allowing the prognosis to be reclassified as favorable. This case reinforces the effectiveness of physiotherapy in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and in improving quality of life.
