This article aimed to analyze Home Care (HC) within the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) and identify the healthcare coverage for cancer patients. The objective was to understand the home care provided to cancer patients through the SUS. The methodology employed consisted of a descriptive, qualitative study based on a narrative literature review on home care provided to cancer patients within the SUS. The results indicate that HC is an innovative and humanized option that allows patients to receive specialized care in their own homes, reducing stress and improving quality of life. It is concluded that HC is an effective strategy to improve the quality of care and promote professional development, provide physical and mental comfort, and strengthen the bond with the patient and family, thus favoring the reduction of unnecessary hospitalizations.
