Radius fracture is one of the most prevalent injuries of the human skeleton, representing a significant cause of functional limitation and impact on activities of daily living. Surgical treatment by osteosynthesis presents itself as an effective approach to promote alignment, stability, and accelerated recovery; however, it implies the need for early and adequate rehabilitation to prevent sequelae such as persistent pain, joint stiffness, decreased strength, and sensory alterations. This study aimed to monitor and analyze the physiotherapeutic evolution of a patient in the postoperative phase of osteosynthesis of a radius fracture, treated at the Teaching and Research Clinic in Physiotherapy of Iguaçu University (UNIG). This is a case study involving a 44-year-old male patient who underwent osteosynthesis of the distal third of the radius of the left upper limb after a motorcycle accident. The physiotherapeutic evaluation included a detailed anamnesis, joint tests, muscle strength, sensitivity, vital signs, and inspection of the affected limb. The therapeutic protocol was conducted progressively, including infrared thermotherapy, therapeutic stretching, joint mobilization, scar desensitization, and active and resisted kinesiotherapy. After six months of follow-up, a significant improvement in range of motion, reduction of edema, normalization of sensitivity, and maintenance of muscle strength were observed, in addition to functional recovery of the wrist and return to daily activities without limitations. The results demonstrate that the systematized and individualized physiotherapy intervention contributed significantly to the restoration of function of the affected limb. It is concluded that physiotherapy plays an essential role in the postoperative rehabilitation of radial fracture osteosynthesis, favoring complete recovery, preventing complications, and promoting a safe and effective return to daily life, work, and physical activities.
