This article discusses the treatment of vaginismus using techniques from pelvic floor physiotherapy, aiming to restore the pelvic floor and restore the natural condition of vaginal sex, which is often impaired by the painful effects of vaginismus. The main objective is to gather and discuss the most relevant scientific data on the role of pelvic floor physiotherapy in the treatment of vaginismus, as well as to identify the most efficient techniques to be applied in the treatment of this vaginal dysfunction. The research was conducted based on an integrative literature review, using databases such as Capes Journals, SciELO, and PubMed, analyzing studies published between 2017 and 2025. The results indicate that physiotherapy techniques, applied during the treatment of vaginismus, considering its severity, significantly reduced the occurrence of pain and discomfort during sexual intercourse, providing muscle flexibility in the pelvic region and to a faster and less traumatic recovery. Therefore, pelvic floor physiotherapy can act in the prevention and treatment of lesions resulting from vaginismus, applying scientifically proven techniques in an individualized way, being an effective and non-invasive intervention, thus promoting good results with regard to the health of patients during their sexual relations.
