Translation: The current project analyzes nursing care in the management of immunotherapy side effects in people with melanoma. Immunotherapy, although effective, presents clinical challenges due to its adverse effects. The study highlights the importance of nursing in mitigating these effects, addressing the main types of reactions, their implications, and management strategies. Objective: The main objective of this article is to address and describe nursing care strategies in managing side effects in melanoma patients undergoing immunotherapy, identify the most common adverse effects, analyze intervention practices, and evaluate their effectiveness in mitigating symptoms and improving patient well-being. The research will be based on a literature review using free databases such as Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Google Scholar, Journal Storage (JSTOR), and Virtual Health Library (VHL), addressing the best care strategies adopted by nurses to control adverse effects and improve patients' quality of life during treatment. Problem: Which nursing interventions are effective in managing the side effects of immunotherapy in patients with melanoma, with an emphasis on promoting treatment adherence and improving quality of life? Results and discussions: The integrative review showed that nursing plays a strategic role in clinical monitoring and intervention in response to the immune-mediated toxicities of immunotherapy. Practices based on care protocols, combined with health education and humanized care, have proven effective in reducing complications, promoting therapeutic adherence, and improving quality of life indicators for cancer patients. Final considerations: It is concluded that nursing care is a central element in the effectiveness of immunotherapy in patients with melanoma. Evidence-based practice focused on comprehensive care enhances treatment safety and patients' quality of life, reinforcing the need for specific protocols and continuous training of professionals.
