Abstract

This study aims to analyze advances in the benefits and safety of cannabidiol (CBD) use between 2019 and 2024 in patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a condition that affects social, behavioral, and sensory functioning. Over the years, scientific studies have explored the involvement of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in this condition through pathophysiological mechanisms that may be modulated by cannabidiol. This research is designed as a literature review with the objective of assessing the impact of CBD use in individuals with ASD.
