This article discusses the actions of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) regarding the exercise of freedom of the press, in accordance with the provisions of the 1988 Federal Constitution. Based on an analysis of Constitutional Complaints that have been processed by the Supreme Court, the study examines the admissibility judgment made by the justices on this matter. Through documentary research and bibliographic sources, the article identifies the criteria adopted in this judgment and the influencing factors that impose obstacles to the principle of freedom of the press. The research offers lawyers and journalists a reflection on the limits to freedom of the press and arguments for the defense of media professionals facing legal action.
