This article aimed to analyze the impacts of gestational hypocalcemia on maternal-fetal health and highlight the importance of early diagnosis and nursing care in the prevention and management of the condition. This is a Literature Review of Scientific Production with an exploratory qualitative approach, utilizing databases such as VHL (BDENF, LILACS, SCIELO) and with analysis based on Minayo's thematic analysis. The study evidenced that calcium deficiency is linked to serious obstetric complications (pre-eclampsia, preterm birth, low birth weight) and that obstetric nursing is fundamental in prevention, through nutritional guidance, promotion of supplementation (1.5 to 2.0 g/day, according to WHO), and the early recognition of clinical signs. It is concluded that the proactive and educational role of the nurse is essential for the monitoring and management of the condition, aiming at the reduction of complications and the promotion of more favorable maternal and neonatal outcomes.
