Abstract

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a clinical condition of a psychological and emotional nature that can affect women in the first weeks after the birth of their baby. It can be treated not only with psychopharmacological treatment but also with the inclusion of nursing care and the use of Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (ICPs). This study aimed to understand the integration between nursing care and ICPs in the care of women with postpartum depression. It is justified by the need to broaden the therapeutic perspective beyond the conventional medical model. The qualitative and descriptive research was based on an integrative literature review, analyzing 17 articles published between 2015 and 2025. The results showed that ICPs contribute to the reduction of depressive symptoms, anxiety, and stress, promoting well-being and strengthening the mother-infant bond. It is concluded that the integration between nursing and ICPs strengthens comprehensive and humanized care for women with PPD.
