This study aimed to analyze the role of nursing care in managing Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) during pregnancy, highlighting strategies to minimize maternal and fetal complications and identifying challenges faced by nurses. A literature review was conducted between 2020 and 2025 using databases such as the Ministry of Health, Google Scholar, and the Virtual Health Library. Inclusion criteria comprised Portuguese-language articles, freely available online, with scientific relevance. Out of 72 studies, 20 were selected for detailed analysis. Findings revealed that pregnancy in women with SLE is high-risk, requiring multidisciplinary monitoring. Strategies included renal function surveillance, cautious use of immunosuppressants, and maintaining hydroxychloroquine therapy. Nursing care proved essential in providing emotional support, health education, and early detection of complications such as gestational hypertension and preeclampsia. Challenges included limited specialized training in autoimmune diseases, which hindered early identification of risks. Emotional and educational support was emphasized as crucial for treatment adherence and healthier pregnancies. Nursing plays a central role in managing SLE during pregnancy, improving maternal-fetal outcomes. The study highlights the urgent need for specific protocols and enhanced professional training, reinforcing interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure comprehensive, evidence-based care.
