Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic condition with high prevalence, associated with systemic and oral complications that compromise quality of life and the success of dental interventions. Regular resistance training has proven to be an effective non-pharmacological strategy for glycemic control and may also modulate the oral inflammatory response. This study aims to analyze the influence of resistance training on glycemic control and its effects on the oral health of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus through a narrative literature review. Databases such as PubMed, SciELO, LILACS, and Google Scholar were consulted, covering the period from 2010 to 2025. The results show that resistance training improves metabolic control and can positively impact dental treatment outcomes, particularly regarding healing and the reduction of periodontal diseases. It is concluded that resistance training should be considered a complementary therapeutic tool in the integrated care of diabetic patients.
