The increased risk of suicide among Nursing professionals is noticeable and concerning. It is often related to the stigma in seeking help and limited access to support services. These professionals are fundamental workers for society who daily put themselves at risk, with exposure to activities harmful to their health, in order to care for others. The objective of this study is to provide a contemporary reflection on the high rates of suicide deaths among nursing professionals. This is an integrative literature review. To guide the search, the following question was developed: How has the theme of suicide among nursing professionals been addressed in the national literature? The chosen time frame was from 2020 to September 2025, with the search for articles conducted between October and November 2025, in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and Virtual Health Library (BVS) databases. Twenty-two scientific studies were found, with six used for the final text. It was found that suicide among nursing workers is related to a combination of factors, such as stress, devaluation of the profession, work overload, and low remuneration. These factors are associated with depression, anxiety, and Burnout Syndrome, along with tobacco use and alcoholism.
