Abstract

Family law currently shows a clear evolution in the construction of the family structure, with great relevance in the legal and social context. The State aims to protect, regulate, and promote the well-being of diverse family formations, recognizing their importance as the basis of society and ensuring the realization of the fundamental rights of their members. Several doctrinal and jurisprudential contributions reinforce the need to adapt the legal system to new family configurations, such as single-parent, same-sex, and blended families. For the development of this study, qualitative and bibliographic research methods were used to understand the legislative and social evolution of family law in Brazil. The study begins with a bibliographic review of legal works, scientific articles, legislation, and judicial decisions that address the transformation of the concept of family and its repercussions in the contemporary legal field.
