Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a condition that worsens over time and affects the breathing and quality of life of people with this condition. Respiratory physiotherapy plays an important role in treatment, helping to reduce or alleviate symptoms and increase the respiratory function of patients. This study reviewed published articles to investigate the effectiveness of respiratory physiotherapy in patients with COPD, using the following databases: PubMed, SciELO, and LILACS, using descriptors in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and articles published between 2015 and 2025. The results showed that actions such as physical exercises (aerobic and strength), bronchial hygiene techniques, and training of the muscles that assist breathing bring benefits such as greater ability in exercise, less difficulty breathing, fewer complications leading to hospitalization, and a better quality of life. Through the analysis of studies and selection of scientific articles, it was observed that respiratory physiotherapy is a useful tool in the care of patients with COPD, helping their independence and well-being.
