This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in the development of social skills in people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The research is characterized as a qualitative literature review, encompassing national and international studies published in the last ten years, as well as classic authors such as Skinner and Lovaas. The results show that ABA, when applied early, favors the development of communication, autonomy, and social interaction, resulting in benefits that extend into adulthood. Despite criticisms related to the rigidity of some protocols, it is observed that more humanized adaptations have strengthened the practice, promoting an ethical and person-centered intervention. It is concluded that ABA constitutes a scientifically grounded approach capable of generating positive and lasting impacts, contributing to inclusion and quality of life.
