This article sought to discuss the impact of consumerism and compulsive buying on individuals’ quality of life within the Brazilian context and to identify psychological interventions through Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). An integrative review and thematic analysis, as conceptualized by Minayo (2007), were used as the methodological framework for this study. The results indicate that digital marketing, technological advances, and the contemporary influence of social media and networks contribute to the development of compulsive buying behaviors, which can negatively affect individuals’ lives in financial, emotional, and social aspects. Accordingly, the literature suggests that psychological interventions and techniques within the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy approach—such as cognitive restructuring, covert sensitization, and exposure with response prevention—demonstrate therapeutic potential and effectiveness in reducing compulsive thoughts and behaviors in studied cases. Based on these findings, there is a need for further research in the Brazilian context, as well as an expansion of statistical data and studies to strengthen preventive measures and therapeutic interventions in the modern scenario.
