The study investigated how multimedia resources could be incorporated into the teaching and learning process in order to enhance students’ cognitive development, motivation, and participation. The objective was to analyze the pedagogical potential of these resources in education, highlighting their contribution to meaningful learning and the development of competencies aligned with digital culture. The development was based on a qualitative bibliographic research, using articles, books, and official documents to support the analysis. The discussions showed that the integration of colors, sounds, and images broadened content understanding, strengthened creativity, and favored inclusive practices. Furthermore, it was found that digital storytelling proved to be an effective strategy both in face-to-face and virtual environments, as it stimulated authorship and collaborative knowledge construction. In the final considerations, it was concluded that multimedia resources, when used critically and pedagogically, were configured as powerful allies of contemporary education. It was also recognized the need for further studies to deepen the evaluation of the impacts of these resources at different levels of education.
