Introduction: Aging is accompanied by physiological and neurological changes that reduce muscle strength, balance, and motor coordination, increasing vulnerability to falls. These falls are associated with physical, functional, and emotional complications, compromising the quality of life of the elderly. Physiotherapy emerges as an essential strategy in the prevention and rehabilitation of these consequences, promoting mobility, autonomy, and safety. Objective: To analyze the importance of physiotherapy in the rehabilitation of complications resulting from falls in the elderly. Methodology: Integrative literature review with a qualitative approach. The search was conducted in the BVS, PubMed, SciELO, LILACS, and MEDLINE databases, using the descriptors "Accidents by Falls," "Physiotherapy," and "Rehabilitation." Articles published between 2015 and 2025, in Portuguese or English, available in full text and directly related to the topic were included. After screening and complete reading, ten articles were selected for critical analysis and categorization of the findings. Results: The analysis showed that falls in the elderly are associated with muscle fragility, sensory changes, and chronic diseases. Physiotherapy proved effective in functional recovery, pain reduction, improved balance, mobility, and motor coordination. Techniques such as kinesiotherapy, functional training, TENS, hydrotherapy, and therapeutic Pilates proved effective in the rehabilitation and prevention of new episodes. Complementary home interventions reinforce environmental safety. Discussion: Physiotherapy contributes not only to physical recovery but also to emotional strengthening, preventing isolation and fear of new falls. Individualized and multidisciplinary strategies, associated with specific exercises and environmental adaptations, favor the autonomy and quality of life of the elderly. Conclusion: Physiotherapeutic intervention is indispensable in the rehabilitation of elderly people after falls, promoting functionality, preventing new accidents, and promoting active and safe aging. Structured physiotherapy programs strengthen motor and sensory abilities, promote independence, and ensure long-term benefits.
