Abstract

This article provides an in-depth analysis of the economic characteristics and potentialities of the State of Ceará in 2025, based on official data from the “IPECE Conjuntura – Vol. XIV – Nº 02 (Apr.–Jun./2025)” report, published by the Institute for Economic Research and Strategic Planning of Ceará. The study presents the economic performance of the state, focusing on agriculture, industry, services, foreign trade, labor market, and public finances, as well as future prospects and the effects of international policies, such as the so-called "Trump tariff shock." According to IPECE (2025), Ceará's GDP grew by 3.86% in the second quarter of 2025, with a cumulative 4.15% growth in the first semester, reflecting productive diversification, fiscal stability, and technological advancement. The state's economic structure demonstrates sustainability, innovation, and global competitiveness, reinforcing Ceará's position as one of Brazil’s most promising regional economies.
