THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION IN THE PENITENTIARY SYSTEM OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL

Abstract

This research aims to present the prison system and the difficulties it faces, as well as to identify the importance of education in reintegrating inmates into society. Based on this, a reflection will be made on the law of penal execution in light of the reality of the prison system. Furthermore, some solutions that can be put into practice to effectively provide education to prisoners in the Rio Grande do Sul penitentiary system and reduce recidivism will be presented.
