This study investigates the application of gamification integrated with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) simulators in the context of the Paraná State Military Police, focusing on competitive platforms for enhancing operational skills. A qualitative and exploratory approach was employed, based on literature review, document analysis, and non-participant observation of training sessions using competitive simulators. Results show significant increase in engagement and motivation of military police officers, improvement in operational skills, especially in decision-making under pressure, and identification of institutional challenges for full technological adoption. The immersion provided by VR and AR technologies, combined with competitive gamification elements, demonstrated potential to revolutionize traditional police training methods, offering safe, controlled, and highly realistic training environments. The study contributes to the discussion of innovative pedagogical practices in police environments and reinforces the importance of technology for ongoing training and professional development of public security agents.
